On Thanksgiving Sunday, I took my son to the grocery store to drop off food for the local Food Bank, as well as 4 packages of Seventh Generation diapers that were given to me by Seventh Generation as part of a Mom Central campaign. Bloggers who received the diapers were encouraged to donate them to the charity of their choice.
On Thanksgiving and at Christmas, my family and I are buried in food. We do not go without the essentials of a great turkey dinner, but also the sweets that top off the meal. We eat, and eat and eat and I often think how lucky we are to splurge on these items. That’s why I choose to give to the Food Bank, knowing that we are very lucky to have the extras, and the essentials.
Seventh Generation is doing a diaper drive across Canada to donate to shelters in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. Baby diapers are consistently on the list of items needed by the Food Bank, so I was happy to pass these along.
Seventh Generation is encouraging mothers to ‘buy one/give one’ to their charity of choice as well.
Thanks Seventh Generation for giving me the opportunity to give the diapers directly to those in my community. Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on all we have – and try to give back to help others as well.
