The nice weather means we are spending more and more time outside and despite our smallish back yard, I still want it to be a fun, creative place for the kids to play.
I’m researching playhouses, but our space is so limited that many are too big and since I prefer something wood they are very expensive.
I’m researching ways to make our deck more ‘fun’ like with a steering wheel. We already have a sand box, chalk, frisbee and the usual toys in our toy bin. We have digger trucks and a sprinkler. All are well used.
And thanks to Pinterest, I’m now armed with even more creative ideas on how to make our backyard a special space (and stay tuned – I’m going to be blogging about one way I’m about to make it magical for the kids, but that’s not happening just yet 😉
Keep in mind, I have a small yard in an urban area. Having grown up in a rural area, I know that trying to bring nature into the yard wasn’t an issue – it was already there!
1 – Building with wood (and be sure to check out that original blog post from The Enchanted Tree for even more ideas!)
2 – Tree stump table and chairs – so pretty!
3- Play clothes line – Really this could be functional after the sprinkler time! (and thanks to @partymomma for pointing out that this should be done under supervision for safety purposes!! Maybe even set it up against the fence where they can still pin but the line isn’t free standing)
4- Water is a must outside, but the chalkboard looks fun too and I love the idea of a mailbox.
5- Interlocking bricks made to look like a road, plus tunnels = fun!
