I have the opportunity to sit on a community advisory board for The Co-operators and last night we learned more about cooperatives (it is, after all, the International Year of the Cooperatives).
At the meeting, we were shown this video about a Vancouver based cooperative that is a social enterprise working to teach women (those in need, new immigrants, those needing new skills) how to sew and make products by reusing flags.
I LOVE this video and this initiative. It highlights cooperatives, women supporting women, ingenuity and the idea of support in the community.
You can learn more about Common Thread: Sewing with Purpose on their website.
Please take a peek, I think you’ll enjoy it too!
I love this video. Thanks for sharing it with us. I am really proud for women who supports on vulnerable women.
It is really overwhelming to help other women who are in need and who are very vulnerable. This is a good cooperative that help a lot of women.
