It’s funny how so many shows and items form my childhood are making an appearance into my kids’ lives. Netflix carries so many shows that I used to love when I was a kid it’s fun to see my children appreciate them too. Some of the shows have been revamped and updated, and others are still there in their old school glory.
Saturday mornings for me meant cartoons. I still remember our brown shag carpet and sitting down to flip channels. Now, the kids don’t have destination TV like I did. They don’t look forward to Saturday morning at 9 am when their favourite show would appear. I would watch Ninja Turtles, or Spider-man, Gummy Bears.
Now, they can watch the show, any show, at any time. That access has changed how we turn to our morning television viewing, but it doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy shows like I did. Ultimate Spider-man is a favourite, and so is My Little Pony. Each of those shows remind me of my own television watching days.
Do you feel nostalgic when your kids pull up one of your own favourite shows from your childhood?
