For the first few years after becoming a SAHM, I stood as a wallflower at the ‘online social media dance’ and just observed and learned.
When my daughter was born I felt ready to share and interact. With a blog in one hand and twitter handle in the other, I embarked on a wonderful journey of connecting.
You, friends, were there when my son started preschool (with hesitation), and when my daughter turned 1. I expressed my heart ache and joy and you were willing to listen and help. I will miss that connection tremendously. I will miss our twitter fun and blog conversations.
The internet has been a wonderful medium for building friendships, but the real heart of it comes from the people themselves who are online. That’s the power and legacy of it. We will all find a new medium now, but those relationships are real and no electrical storm can eliminate them.
I continue to be surrounded by happiness and love. If you’ve read my blog or tweets you already know my greatest passion – it’s my family.
Each day I am reminded that I am blessed to be with them. My husband was supportive of my blogging from the beginning and I have no doubt he will simply encourage me to find another outlet for me to express myself and continue to grow.
And my sweet children. They make me believe that passion and happiness are a must in life and really can be obtained. My heart swells with their giggles, eyes of wonderment and touch.
While I continue to love life, I will miss going to this dance. Goodbye internet. You have been a silent friend with a very powerful, loud voice in my life.

Note to readers: This is my official entry into the Mabel’s Labels BlogHer ‘10 Contest. With it, I am applying to possibly win tickets to BlogHer in New York and a year writing gig with Mabel’s Labels (*teehee*). I am very excited to be entering, but don’t panic – the premise is electrical storms are wiping out the internet but it is only for the contest. I mean, how unfair would that be? I don’t even have a Blackberry or iPhone yet! Enjoy reading – on Twitter you can follow all the awesome entries using the hashtag #MabelBlogHer
