I just LOVE these 2-ingredient home made cosmetic recipes from the Queen of Green.
I want to try the face masks, the conditioner…it’s all made with stuff that are in our pantries. Hooray for eco-friendly!
While for years we’ve had the children’s bath products, lotions, toothpaste etc. switched to natural products, I am having trouble switching all of mine.
I have tried some make up, but if it’s not found locally I tend not to think to order it online. But here’s what I’m looking for in the ‘green’ variety (body wash/soap/bath bombs have been switched and I love them):
-Shampoo (I have short, but THICK hair and find that many don’t wash/rinse well for me)
-Mascara
-Eye shadow (I’ve tried and like Pure Anada, but I need to do another order – unless you know where to find something local!)
-Face cream (with spf preferred!)
What are you using that is eco-friendly? Share your green beauty products please!
Hi Rebecca:
I use a lot of all natural products and my “go to” shampoos are from either Nature Clean, Green Beaver or Andalou Naturals. I get them at Superstore, Kardish or Rainbow.
If you want good quality eco makeup then you should try the cosmetics counter at Rainbow Natural Foods (Warning – lots to choose from. You may be in danger of spending lots of money 🙂 Also, Lilou Organics in Manotick has lots of really nice products, and everything is available online too.
Have fun and let me know what neat products you find!
Heather
Thanks Heather!
I’ve tried the Nature Clean shampoo, maybe I need to try a different one.
I have to remember to browse Lilou!
I don’t mind spending extra money, but don’t want to spent a fortune!
I love the products from Earth to Body at natural.ca. They are a family owned/run company out of Montreal and their shipping fees are only $6. I personally use theie toner, face cream and lip chap every day! Their face masks and bath salts are great too. They used to sell them at a store on Beechwood – but it burnt down 🙁
