There’s a new gift giving/shopping service in Ottawa, and I am loving it.

Givopoly is a gift concierge service in Ottawa.  With over 50 partners (most are local) to chose from, everyone’s shopping and gift giving needs can be easily met on Givopoly.

I should note that before Givopoly approached me to offer a giveaway for my lovely readers, I was already a customer. After my friend had a baby in December, I couldn’t get to see her easily. With colds going around, and her with a newborn and recovering, visits were tricky. My kitchen was still being finished so I couldn’t cook my traditional ‘congratulations! Here’s food!’ meal/goodies.

Enter Givopoly.  I followed them on Twitter so was aware of their site.  I searched the website and admired how many local businesses they were working with.  After browsing the consumable goods section, I was drawn to the Brunch selection offered by Life of Pie.

Ordering was super easy, and while you have the option to pick up your order at the store, I opted for delivery at a very reasonable cost.

I asked for it to be delivered the next day.  Upon delivery, there was no one home so they called me to ask if it was ok to leave it at the door. Knowing my friend was likely around (we never answer the door as new parents right?), I told them to leave it and that was that.

My friend contacted me to shower me with thank-yous and tell me how amazing the food was.  I was happy to help, she was happy to have some ready-made meals.

This is just one example of how Givopoly is making a difference for shoppers in Ottawa. From gift delivery to shopping for ourselves, all of their business partners are local businesses, and any time we can support local shops, that’s pretty great isn’t it?

What I really like the wide variety of options. This isn’t only a flower shop, or a chocolate shop, this is a gift shop.  There’s something for everyone.  Next day delivery is available in the Ottawa area, plus there’s ‘same day’ delivery options for the last minute gift givers.
