Everyone needs a break sometimes, right? All parents need an outlet to be by themselves, or enjoy moments of relaxation. The spa is one of those places for me.
It’s a completely indulgent activity I realize, but after years of Andy spoiling me with gift certificates, it’s something that I’ve come to rely on. A facial, a massage, a pedicure in the summer – I rarely look at my smartphone, I don’t even bring a book, I just sit with my thoughts and really find a way to relax. My favourite service ever is a facial.
One of the spas that I frequent in Ottawa is Synergy Spa. Easily located off of the highway near the Place d’Orleans Mall, I’ve been to Synergy in the past for massages, waxing and even to their hair service (Blades).
When they offered me a chance to not only pamper myself, but also one of you lucky readers, I was happy to take them up on the offer.
Synergy Spa has a full range of spa services, including RMT massages, hot stone massages, waxing and other body treatments.
I opted to use my gift certificate on a pedicure and an eye brow wax. We were getting ready to leave for PEI so these two services were well timed. Sure, the eye brow wax isn’t much fun, but it’s something I do anyway and having been to Synergy before I know they do a good job.
The pedicure was timely given the time of year. It was a relaxing almost-hour long service that included warm wax and massage.
Choosing the colour is always the tough part but I went with the blue ‘On The Beach’ and loved it! The staff was friendly and the experience was exactly what I anticipate at the spa – relaxing.

I definitely would love to get a spa pedicure! Not sure why I haven’t been to Synergy yet as I live in Orleans but I should give them a try. My feet are in desperate need of some TLC…I am getting tired of the feeling of my rough skin snagging on my bed sheets! TMI?? 🙂
