While this blog is primarily about parenting, motherhood and lifestyle, I have managed to sneak a few of my obsessions with TV, books, movies, pop culture and Alexander Skarsgard on here. More so on Twitter if you follow me there.
Turns out, my closeted obsessions are paying off – I’ve invited to see Elaine Lui (of the clever and informative blog Lainey Gossip) on Monday April 7! They have also offered me 2 tickets to giveaway!
Here are the details:
time to dust off those notebooks, sharpen those pencils and don your back-to-school best. this is your official invite to attend class at lainey gossip’s faculty of celebrity studies – sophomore session!. glacéau vitaminwater and gossip maven, lainey gossip can’t wait to school you and your best plus-one on celebrity culture. lainey will also be sharing an inside look at her debut book, “listen to the squawking chicken”.
the live lecture will include cocktails and snacks, as well as a cerebral look at the study of celebrity gossip. note, this is not a crash course for the celeb-chatter challenged: be sure to brush up on your reading at www.laineygossip.com and if you are really keen to impress the dean, start prepping with future classmates, @laineygossip and @vitaminwater_ca using the #rumorestimmortalis hashtag.
The event is taking place in Ottawa from 6 pm until 9 pm on April 7.
Want in? You can win a pair of tickets for you and a friend!
Leave a comment below and tell me your current pop culture obsession! Good luck and see you there!

This is awesome! I’ve been a Lainey follower for a lonnnng time and I’ve yet to have the pleasure of attending one of her gossip soirees. My current obsession is, of course, Gwyneth.
Her Ted talk was awesome. Current pop culture obsession? Hmm. That’s tough. Veronica Mars, Prince George, John Green, Rupaul’s Drag Race… I cover a lot of territory.
My pop culture obsession are the Kardashians. I know,I should know better, but they market themselves so well! ;P Thanks for running this contest, Becky!
My obsession these days is left-over Bachelor-bashing and updates because he was such a smug a$$, the conscious uncoupling of course and anything to do with the Kardashians (my favourite of all the alien species to study). 🙂
