Did you know that each weekday in the summer, there are City of Ottawa recreation staff members visiting different parks during the day and setting up crafts/activities for children aged 4-10?
Yes, that exists!
The free program runs until August 22 and is happening across the city. There is a predetermined schedule so you can find out when the Park-ticipate program is visiting a park near you.
Today we were the only ones at the park and my daughter happily made a colourful pinwheel while we chatted with the employees. We didn’t head to the park knowing they’d be there – but having known about the program from last year, I recognized the vehicle! We are very lucky to have so many fantastic FREE programs like this across the city.
Keep an eye out for the Park-ticipate vehicle or check the schedule! I love craft time that doesn’t leave a mess in my house.
