It’s not secret that I really enjoy Halloween and the Fall. Decorating with leaves and pumpkins and bats makes me happy. This weekend, the kids and I put together our annual front-stoop display, as we do each year, however, we added a new element: A Headless Scarecrow!
It was super simple to make and didn’t cost anything!
Here’s how to make your own scarecrow:
What you need:
1 pair of old children’s pants (the ones with the holes is what I recommend!)
1 old long sleeve shirt (one that is torn, stained or doesn’t fit the kids anymore works!)
Leaves
Pumpkin
Directions:
To assemble your scarecrow, stuff the pants and shirt with leaves. Our scarecrow sits on an upside down planter to make it easier. Once the pants are full of leaves, have the bottom half sit. Position the top half on top.
For the pumpkin head (decorated as you like!) you can try to position the head on top, but the weight may prove difficult. For us, we had him hold his head.
That’s it!
Happy decorating!
