I am so happy to say that Netflix finally realized that we should be married and popped the question. Or something like that.  Basically, I am now a member of the Netflix #streamteam. Sure, there are others like me, but I want to believe that Netflix feels I’m the most special 😉
What’s this mean? Essentially, I get to keep watching Netflix, enjoy some perks, and share with you cool stuff along the way. Â I get new show info quickly (which I will share on Facebook often!) and the love-fest we all feel for Netflix continues.
Each month, the #streamteam has a theme to focus on. Â Naturally, because it’s September, this month the focus is on Back To School.
There are a lot of educational programs on Netflix for the kids (of most ages) and my own kids love certain ones (without realizing they are learning! Shhhh.)
Three of our family recommendations:
The first is Super Why! This show has been around since my son was younger and both of the kids loved it. Â They don’t watch it as much now, but every so often they put it on and are engrossed. Â Super Why! twists traditional fairy tales and literary tales and makes them about a lesson to be learned – all while learning letters, sounds and words. It’s fun and whimsical with a really great learning focus. Plus, I dare you to listen to how Pig sings the alphabet and not get hooked.
The second show that the kids have been binge watching lately is Martha Speaks. The talking dog teaches the kids larger words than most kid shows would offer, including definitions and recaps at the end of an episode. Â The stories are funny, educational, interesting and offer some neat lessons. Â I love it because the kids often ask for more descriptions about some words or want to strike up additional conversations about the episode later.
The last show is the ever popular The Magic School Bus. It’s as awesome as I remember it being when I watched it as a kid, and now that I can share the scientific findings of Ms. Frizzle with my own children, it’s even more memorable.
Do your kids have a favourite educational Netflix show that they are hooked on?
BONUS: Check out the Netflix craft of the month: A really neat pencil holder!Â
Disclosure: I receive perks for being a part of the #streamteam. Â This doesn’t change the fact that I was already binge watching television shows. Â And yes, I watch Netflix on my phone.
