It’s that time of year again! I’m off to Blissdom Canada, one of my ‘must’ attend professional development/networking/fun events I do all year. I’m honoured to once again be a Community Leader at Blissdom. I’ll be hosting a microsession about creating great content – but more the ins and outs of actually finding that content, tracking it, sorting it – all that jazz.
Each year I go to Blissdom and put on my work hat. I go because it betters myself, my blog, my business projects and I recognize the importance of learning. I feed off of the energy of other like-minded people who are in the same situation as I am – working from home, part time, kids under foot – and I find my tribe when I go.
However, even though I go with a serious plan, it’s always the non-work stuff that I take away and hold closer to my heart. The people I have a bite to eat with, or chat at the coffee station with. The people I dance with or randomly hang out with – you know who you are – end up being important parts of my life when I return to Ottawa and leave the conference behind.
I’m not sure what learning gems I’ll walk away with this year (I always do), or what new partnerships may form (they happen at random moments which is fun!) but I think I’m most excited for the people I get to see, meet and bond with.
If you are heading to Blissdom, try to find me (hint: near coffee) and please say hi! If you aren’t, I’m hoping to live blog a little bit this weekend so keep your eyes peeled to my social channels and this blog for updates!
