There is really no reason for this post, just a few updates and thoughts:
Baby girl is now 8 months old. 8! Where has the time gone? (also note, we have 2.5 weeks left of my husbands parental leave. Insert panic attack here.) She is rolling, sitting, lifting her bum up trying to crawl. It’s adorable the way she babbles. No teeth yet, but there are signs that they are all waiting and almost ready to come. While she isn’t sleeping great, I can’t even tell you how cute her smile is to me in the morning.
The Boy is hilarious. He has this funny sense of humour but has started his ‘rough play’ stage. It’s normal I know but it catches me off guard when I’m randomly jumped on and he shouts ‘battaw!’ – I have NO idea what "battaw!” means, and while it’s cute and funny, it comes with an attack (always in play at least!). Luckily my husband is more than willing to be part of this playing. But conversely, he is also one of the warmest little guys ever (bias much? whatever 😉 He asks to sit and ‘tell stories’ – not books, but just random discussions. We love that. I hope he always stays so open. He is also very empathetic. When the baby is crying he’ll ask ‘is everything okay?’. So sweet.
Did I not post something that I started potty training? Yeah, that’s what I thought. We totally suck at it. He was doing great. Really great. Then for whatever reason, we got lazy and have regressed. I just keep telling myself he’s not even three yet, so we aren’t fighting it right now. Major Fail!
School, however, is going really well (knock on wood! I don’t want to curse that!). He seems to love it. He tells us fun stories, sings the songs he learns and names off friends he plays with. He is my babe growing into a little boy. (stupid time, you are my enemy!)
As for me, I am in full holiday mode. I hosted Thanksgiving and have started Christmas shopping (posts with some Christmas gift ideas to come). It’s a busy time, especially when the hubs heads back to work (again, boo-urns), but it’s a fun, exciting, brilliant time for me and my family.
I wish you, dear readers, the same kind of happiness.
