Preschool Activity: Holiday Felt Magnets

logo

This is a really simple activity to do with the kids and the magnets are great for the fridge, office white board or gifts!

What you will need:

glue

  • felt
  • scissors
  • glitter glue sticks
  • decorations (pipe cleaners, pom poms, bells, anything!)
  • popsicle sticks
  • magnetic strip

1-Cut shapes out of the felt to decorate: Christmas trees, snowman, candy cane, stocking, anything! (for older kids, have them cut the shapes themselves)

2-Glue the felt piece onto a popsicle stick

3-Decorate however the kids want! Using glitter glue is a controlled way to decorate with glitter (since we all LOVE glitter, but don’t love the mess, right?)

4-When completely dry, cut a thin piece of magnetic strip with self-stick backing and attach to the popsicle stick.

I had the opportunity to demonstrate this craft on CTV Ottawa Morning last week.  Take a peak for instructions!
