For something new and fun, try potato stamping with the kids!
This is an activity all of us have probably done at some point many many years ago in school. I always forget how fun but simple it is. Potato stamping is involves craft supplies that most of us already have at home.
Simply slice the potato in half and carve your image on the exposed potato. Use a small knife but be careful! Ensure the images you are using are left raised. (I have no talent for this so I chose very simple shapes!).
Set out different coloured paints and let the kids get creative! We used paper, but you could use cardboard or something else to decorate! This would be a fun way to make your own wrapping paper too.
