We spent Thanksgiving Monday at the final day for the Star Wars: Identities Exhibition at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.
How we managed to wait until the very final day to go is beyond me, but as a family of Star Wars fans, we HAD to go.
My kids haven’t seen Episodes 1-3 yet. That will happen soon I suspect. But we watched it with them in the order that they were made, that we watched them in, and I will fight you about the fact that this is the proper order! 😉
The Exhibit was a really neat experience. It tied in Star Wars costumes, props and movie items with the concept of identity; finding our own, exploring human nature and more.
Each person who went into the exhibit would stop by electronic stations to answer questions and become their own Star Wars characters, with a back story and more. It was fascinating.
I was even more impressed seeing the costumes and props up close. Chewbacca is as tall as you’d expect.
The boy woke up this morning again saying ‘I had a really great time at the Star Wars thing mom, thanks!’. Over and over again. That’s how I know it was a success.
Also, we hadn’t been to the museum for a while and there are a bunch of new planes and things to see and do with the kids. We’ll be heading back (we have a membership!) to check it out!
I wish this was coming to Toronto… I have the same Star Wars geek than you have, or so it seems, and we’re having a Star Wars birthday party in 2 weeks, for my soon-to-be 6 y/o.
I can’t wait
