What To Do In Ottawa on Family Day
Family Day is on February 17 this year and for some Ottawa residents (at least our kids!) it means a long weekend!
Not sure what to do with that extra time? If you’ve been busy you may just want a pj/cuddle day. Or, if the weather is nice, wouldn’t it be fun to get outside? Looking to get out more? Here are some things happening in Ottawa for Family Day this year.
Have an event of your own? Add it in the comments!
1- Family Day at the Museum of History ($)* – Celebrate the Snow Exhibit at the Canadian Museum of History on Family Day. Participate in special activities and enjoy musical performances!
2- Family Day on the Farm ($) – Spend Family Day with other families – animal families that is! The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum has a full day of fun planned. From bread making, to horse care to crafts, there’s something for kids of all ages.
3- Family Day at the NAC (FREE) – This year’s theme at the NAC Family Day event is ‘camping’. This free event will have theatre workshops, crafts, face painting, community booths and more. There’s even an experience for babies 18 months and younger!
4- Skating Party with Mayor Jim Watson (FREE) – Mayor Jim Watson is hosting a free Family Day skate at the Rink of Dreams from 11 am until 2 pm. Lace up, put your helmets on and join him on the ice! (A donation of a non-perishable food item is requested)
5- Winterlude ($/FREE depending) – There are still some Winterlude activities happening on Family Day, but this is your last chance to catch them! Everyone cross their fingers that the weather cooperates!
