Not being able to make coffee is an emergency, right?
I can’t help you out if you are completely out of coffee in the house though. I recommend heading to your local coffee shop and fixing that situation ASAP if that’s the case (or, keep a can/bag in the freezer for such emergencies), but I do have 2 tips to help you make your coffee when other problems arise.
Tip 1: When you run out of coffee filters!
Yes, a reusable coffee filter would fix this problem, but sometimes, they don’t fit the machine right and you end up with coffee grinds all over. If you are still using filters (like I am – they are compostable at least!) and you run out of filters, here’s the tip: Use a napkin or paper towel. Fold it like a cone, or bowl, depending on the machine and there you go! Depending on the quality, you may have to double up though to prevent tearing.
Tip 2: Single Coffee
There are some neat gadgets to use to make a single cup of coffee. You know those times – it’s 2 pm, you have some more work to do, the kids are almost home and you’d rather have a nap but don’t want to put on pot of coffee. You just need a bit to keep you going. Here’s what I do: Using a loose tea filter, I put a coffee filter in it, scoop some coffee and add hot water. I boil the water and try to let it cool just a bit because boiling water tends to be too hot for the coffee. Voila! A single cup.
There you are folks. A few tips to help with one of the most important aspects of some of our lives: Coffee 😉

Even more than the tips, I like that mug. It looks perfect for a hot cup of coffee (or tea)
