When I started blogging and using Twitter, I didn’t realize how strong the online world of ‘mom’ really was. I sort of knew there were a lot of mom bloggers out there, and I knew there was an increase of women becoming entrepreneurs but I didn’t fully understand the importance of this community for one another.
Since becoming part of the ‘group’, I’ve come to realize how important and special it really is. Beyond my walls as a stay at home mom, beyond my community, city, country – there were others out there. Some like me, some quite different, but all of us try to get along holding this mom title.
I feel like I’ve been welcomed, everyone opened the door to the Blog World and Twitterverse and said ‘Come on in’ and I did. It’s been so much fun to get to know about mom businesses, amazing products that you’ve come up with; to read your blogs and tweets and even though I haven’t met most of you. I grab my coffee and know that someone out there gets it too. I don’t always agree with what I read, but that’s okay. We can agree to disagree and most do that in such a civil way. We promote each other’s work, offer tips and ask for advice. Everyone is so welcoming, so understanding, so encouraging – it’s wonderful! Not to get too sugary here, but moms helping moms rock.
In the spirit of encouraging more women to walk through the door into this world that I’ve come to know and love, I’ll be featuring some mom bloggers or businesses every Monday. I hope you check them out and we can start a circle of sharing! (hahaha, that sounds so lame…) 😉
The first Mommy Monday is dedicated to the following cool moms:
Loulou’s Views: A blog about the joys of mommyhood by an Ottawa gal who is super friendly and writes fun posts about everything – great family stories and thoughts on a variety of topics. Loukia posted one of the first comments on my blog when I started and that made me feel great ;) Check her out.
Andrea at A Peak Inside the Fishbowl writes about motherhood, Ottawa, healthy living and takes amazing pictures. She has a real gift with words (she’s a writer if you’re looking) and when I first saw her blog, it’s the design/style I aspire to have (when I get around to my blog redesign!). Always informative, you don’t need to live in Ottawa to jump into this bowl.
Keep up the great work ladies.
Stay tuned for more great moms next week!
