To be perfectly honest, I could write post after post about the awesome things to do in the Niagara region. I haven’t even covered non-kid places like the many, many great wineries the region has to offer.
But, if on a family vacation, here are a couple other places you may pass by that are worth a second look:
Port Dalhousie: This place has a beautiful beach. Get there early and you can set up under one of the big trees that provide shade. The little town has some shopping to offer, including a yummy baked goods shop owned by Anna Olson of Food Network fame. There are also some restaurants and a couple ice cream shops.
Jordan: This is the home of the Inn on the Twenty, the gorgeous Inn setting where we got married. However, the restaurant (while delicious) may not be as kid friendly as you like. So, instead, check out the little shops on the street, maybe even do a quick wine tasting at the shop and grab a bite at Zooma Zooma. The food is incredible for the price you pay. You may also like the Jordan House – amazing fish and chips.
We are lucky to have a little oasis of beauty so close to us in Ontario. No matter where you might live, when you are planning this summer’s vacation, consider Niagara and all it has to offer.
