Baby girl will be a year in a month, and while I can’t believe time has gone so fast, I am loving this age of amazement and discovery. A few things that make me smile:
-She is pulling herself up and now ‘walking’, slowly and not steadily, but still walking, along furniture.
-She is babbling a lot. Lots of different sounds, animal sounds, and the beginnings of some words. Her first animal sound came before Christmas – a ‘roar’ for a dinosaur. Her favourite word is ‘dada’, said at different fluctuations to get daddy’s attention, to demonstrate her happiness in seeing him or to ask to see him. It’s adorable how when she hears the door open at the end of the day, she puts her head down and crawls really fast towards the door.
-She loves her brother so much and anything he touches is gold. She mimics everything he does – drumming, taking the hockey stick and trying to hit the puck with it, chasing his race car…
-Sometimes, when I’m nursing her, she’ll stop, smile, look up at me and coo, waiting for my reaction. I look down, into her big blue eyes, tell her I love her, and she always seems content with that answer, so she keeps eating. I love those moments.
She’s getting so big, so fast, I wish I could stop time.
