Frugal with a side of splurge

I have to say that in general, I am pretty frugal when it comes to shopping for clothing.  For myself, my husband, or the kids I can usually find a deal.  If it’s too expensive, we really don’t need it.

I often score sales.  Sometimes, really good sales like this purse from RW & CO that I found in the clearance bin for $1.60

When we visit family in Windsor there are some pretty great outlets there, including a Tommy Hilfiger one that I score some awesome stuff at for cheap.  I also love buying pieces from Joe Fresh and lately I have had really good luck at Smart Set for me.

For the kids, Children’s Place (the outlet in Windsor especially) used to have some great deals, but lately I haven’t done as well.  I am in love with Carter’s/Bonnie Toggs – I get really nice stuff for the kids at affordable prices.

I also don’t mind hunting at consignment shops, especially for seasonal clothes like Christmas outfits.

I also don’t have a lot of clothes for them at one time.  A week’s worth for sure, but do they need much more than that? We do laundry almost every day.

However, if there is one thing I buy a lot of for the kids, and splurge on (in terms of numbers) it’s pyjamas.  For whatever reason, I love kids pjs.  They are adorable.  Plus, since we all like to relax in the mornings (unless it’s a school day or we have plans), we often stay in our pyjamas for extended times.  The kids wear a new pair each night.  There’s something about fresh pjs! Plus, breakfast often happens to get on them 😉

Do you have shopping vices for your kids?? Closet full of teeny shoes? Girly dresses?
