1 Year Ago I became a Blogger

I am very proud to be a blogger.  Label me mommy blogger, food blogger, or any other blogger name and it doesn’t change the fact that I love doing this and am very proud to be a blogger.

This was my first post.  It was random. Had no audience. No direction. It was very me.  It was like I was dipping my toe into the pool to see if I wanted to jump in.

I still can remember sitting in my basement at the computer.  Kids playing.  Baby just a month old.  My husband off on parental leave.  Everything in my life was bliss.  I finally made the decision to hit publish.

1 year later, and I’m doing back flips off the diving board into the pool.

It’s been a great year.  I write because I want to write.  It certainly isn’t for fame, because let’s face it, I only put so much of myself out there on this blog.  And while I wish it was for money (ha!) really it’s just because it’s fun.

Ultimately, why I blog is because of the connections I make, the relationships I’ve developed with my readers.  I like to share or tell stories.  I like others to try recipes or find products that I love useful too.  If you read my contest entry into the Mabel’s Labels BlogHer 2010 Contest, you’ll know that you make a huge difference in why I blog.

Thanks for joining me on this journey.  I’m still learning.  But really, that’s part of the fun.

Also, soon there will be some new changes to the blog – a new look and feel.  Don’t worry, I will still be writing about anything and nothing. 🙂

**Edited to add that Lara points out in the comments that I received a comment on my first post.  I did from Loukia over at Loulou’s Views and let me tell you it made my day.  I remember showing my husband and feeling quite excited.  It still is a wonderful feeling knowing that people actually read what you write, and better yet engage.
