Royale Reno-Cation – Dream and Win $100!
This post has a couple awesome things in it.
1) We’re talking about home renovations and info on how to win a huge prize pack to put towards them. Something I am currently dreaming of (I want a new kitchen!)
2) You’ll get information on how to have a chance to win part of the $25,000 prize package to put towards home renovations and a vacation from Royale AND a chance to win $100 on this blog.
YAY!
First, the awesome contest that Royale is doing.
I’ve entered, and it’s really easy to do so (check out the game to play for bonus entries on the site!). With your entry, you have a chance to win
– The Grand prize includes $13,000 to spend on a home renovation in any way the winner chooses AND an 11-day, $7,000 Royal Caribbean cruise for two on the “Jewel of the Seas.”
– An additional $5,000 in prizes will be given away to secondary winners in the form of 15 weekly prize packs from the Royale Luxury Bath Collection that include a personal heated towel rack, new luxurious towels, and premium Royale robes.
What would I do with $13,000 to spend on a home renovation?
My kitchen. Right now.
Okay, I am hoping to do it at some point this year, but it’s not that simple. It is a big project, which would be made much simpler if I won $13,000!
I need new cupboards and new counter top, plus additional storage – a pantry, good organization. I mean, I go crazy for something like those pull out recycle bins that are hidden away!! Awesome!
I still have to do more research into granite vs Corian but I think I am leaning towards white cabinets. So many ideas, I really need to narrow down some designs.
I like these looks (though my kitchen is much smaller):
You can Win
You have a chance to win a $50 Cara restaurant gift card (to use at Milestone’s, Swiss Chalet, Harvey’s or Montana’s) AND a $50 gift card to Home Hardware to get your own mini-renovations started.
1-Enter the Royale $25,000 reno-cation contest,
2-Post a comment on this blog and tell me what you would renovate with $13,000 (required) and if you like (for fun!), where you would spend a dream vacation.
Note: This is open to Canadian residents only (sorry US friends!)
*1 entry/comment per person. Comment closes April 27 9 pm est. I will use random.org to generate a winning number.
(ETA: This is part of a Mom Central Canada blog tour. For sharing this info and offering the giveaway, I also get a little gift card. Win-win. I like that 😉

Oh, our place needs some help just about everywhere (I would love a new kitchen too!), but if I had $$$ I would spend it on a basement reno. It's more practical. *sigh*
Dream vacay? Australia. In a heart beat. 🙂

I could definately use this for a renovation! I need new windows & siding for my house, I dont know if $13,000 would cover that, but would cover a big chunk of it!
Stephanie
DEFINITELY the kitchen! We like our general layout, but everything else is in bad shape and dated.
Dream vacation… trip around the world for 6 months! How awesome would that be?!
simplyfreshottawa
It would have to be my kitchen!! I spend the most time there so why not have a nice one?
Dream vacation – Spain!

I would redo our ugly dated and GREEN main bathroom while basking in the sun on a tropical vacation!
Georgina
Definitely would be to update our 1980's(more like 1880) kitchen.
My dream vacation – relaxing on a Greek island
Gingermommy
Our basement is partially finished….meaning carpeted and drywall. I would like to put up some dividing walls and make a fa,ily room/entertainment room for the kids to hang out. I also would like to add a second bathroom. The room itself is roughed in but needs fixtures and finishing. Then I would take a long weekend getaway somewhere tropical 🙂
Sweet Panda
I would like to finish my basement so that it can become my baby's play area. Also, would like to add in a guest bedroom and full bathroom in the basement as well.
My dream vacation would be going to Hawaii!
Sherri
Hmmm. It would be a toss-up between starting to finish our basement and replacing my dated kitchen appliances. I too dream of a double oven!
Carrie
I would do my main bathroom. It is on the "to-do" list but it's not a huge priority cause the tub still functions and my girls aren't of an age where they NEED a bathroom set up with all their personal crap 🙂 But it would be nice to do it and $13,000 would DEFINITELY help!
And the vacation can be anywhere sunny and warm (kids and husband optional LOL)
solemom
Definitely the kitchen. The fake wood paneling has GOT to go.
And I'd happily vacation anywhere where awesome nannies can be found for cheap. Seriously… ANYWHERE. 😉

Kitchen and bathroom first.
I would like to take off to the Cayman Islands.

Hi Rebecca!
I've already entered the Royale contest. Fingers crossed!!
We are moving soon and in the new home the basement is unfinished so the $13,000 would take care of a big part of finishing it!
As for a dream vacation…Hawaii…I have always wanted to go there 🙂
Chantal
I totally want to redo my dated old kitchen, but we also need new floors through the whole house, and desperately need new windows… ARG

Entered!
I think I'd redo my bathrooms… I hate them! The people who lived here before me did such a terrible job. I think they closed their eyes, spun around, and threw grout and tiles randomly!
As to where I'd go, my favourite place on earth is Niagara Falls. My very first "grown-up" vacation, planed by myself, was to Niagara, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Thank you!
Christy
What a great contest! I LOVE the pictures of the kitchens you posted, for some reason I love white kitchens.
Having said that, I think if I would win the money, I'd redo the kitchen as well.
And dream vacation? Right now anywhere, but I've always wanted to go to Greece.
Marilyn (A Lot of Loves)
I would totally renovate our ensuite. It's circa 1980 complete with fake brass fixtures and no heat. I'd take any vacation out there. Any vacation is a good vacation!

Great contest! I tagged the Royale site so I can enter daily 🙂
I would, without hesitation, renovate my kitchen. While it looks big, there is a lot of wasted cupboard space in corners that I can't get in to. It's very poorly designed. I'd love to rip out the cabinets, install an island, and create some cupboard space! As it is, my pots and pans live under the sink. I love to cook, and I need a more efficient kitchen.
As for dream vacation, I'd love to head to Scotland for a few weeks. Someday…

My bedroom – we've done the kids rooms but our room is atrocious and it's about time we had a nice place to relax in the evening.
As for dream vacation – Hawaii – the snow here is making me want warmth!!
Susana
Definitely our bathroom.. we have pink counters. Luckily we changed the pink faucets last year but it definitely needs a complete reno.
My dream vacation would be Italy.
Thanks for the contest.
Rae
We're renting and can't renovate. My kitchen needs it most though :p
Sandra
I would redo the livingroom and visit the Caribbean.

A new master bathroom. Totally self indulgent but it really needs it!
Right now anywhere quiet and with lots of sleep would be a dream vacation so I think an all inclusive beach resort would be perfect.

We bought a 27-year old home that hasn't been update in…well…27 years. Basically every room in our home needs a renovation but I think if I won the $13K it would go towards renovating our kitchen. Picture horrible wallpaper, bright yellow paint and some really awful cabinets. For a vacation it would be Spain all the way! Thanks!
renee
My house was built in 1895 so i could do some updates in about every room, but i would like to add a second bathroom and then take all the kids camping up north

I entered the Royale contest – here's hoping for a winner!
Our house (I'm sensing a theme here) is over 100 years old so I would renovate the living room as it has been wallpapered/then painted/then papered/then painted more times than I can imagine and really needs to be stripped back and done properly!
Once that was done I'd take off to Costa Rica for some rest and relaxation!

If I had $13 000 for a home renovation, I would use it for our ensuite bathroom. The shower is showing signs of wear and I would really like to replace it. And perhaps get rid of all the grey porcelain. 🙂
I don't really have a dream vacation, but I'll steal my hubby's. Hawaii. It sounds pretty good to me.

They have many many downloads. Just click on the downloads tab, and Sims 2. I’ve never seen a rocking chair for sims, I’ve seen recliners, but never a chair that rocks. I’m sure you can find a chair that looks just like a rocking chair, but I’m not sure it will rock. You’ll need a custom animation for that.

I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.
