Ever want to try to focus on local restaurants and food but don’t know where to start? Ottawa is laden with great places to eat and buy food.
The Byward Market has long been an Ottawa staple for food. It was the fun place to go when I was in university, but it also has a very mature side. Top quality restaurants and places to find amazing ingredients. I simply don’t make it to the Market like I used to and hope to re-visit it more frequently.
It was to my great delight when I came across the new C’est Bon Cooking Food Tours. A FOOD TOUR. I mean, this sounds like heaven. I haven’t been able to attend yet (have I mentioned how full each weekend has been this summer? 😉 but it’s on my list of must-do activities.
I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Paola online and she’s a really great person. I have no doubt she makes a wonderful guide on the tour.
What is the food tour? From their website:
Discover Ottawa’s flourishing food scene during Foods of Ottawa Tours. Acquaint yourself with local culture during regional food tours and international culinary odysseys.
How great does that sound?! Check out the website for upcoming dates (including a poutine crawl this weekend for charity. You may have a chance to win tickets to that event on Foodieprints!)
C’est Bon Cooking also does cooking lessons and corporate team building.
Thanks for sharing the info. I haven’t heard of this before and it sounds awesome!
I’ve done the beta test of this tour. It is awesome. Lived in Ottawa for 20 years, and never heard of some of the places in the market we’d been too – have some new haunts, and Paolo/ Andree are fab team. Do it!
