The stores are plastered with back to school products. I can remember enjoying shopping for all things school related (especially clothes) when I was younger. But now, I’d rather spend my time doing something else.
I give you my online shopping guide for Back to School! Don’t leave the house when you can get everything you need (well, some pretty important stuff at least) online while in your pyjamas drinking coffee.
Beatrix NY Little Kid Backpack
A few weeks ago I reviewed the Beatrix Little Kids backpack. It’s a perfect size for those of us with little ones just going into school. It’s not too big, will hold a lunch bag (Beatrix has those to match!) and our little ones can carry them. There are also bigger ones for our older kids, all in adorable characters.
Didn’t everyone have a Thermos product at some point growing up? They are still fantastic. Recently, Thermos sent me some FUNtainers to try for myself – the straw bottles have been something I’ve been using for years with the kids. They are stainless steel and keep drinks cold for a very long time. The jars keep food warm for up to 5 hours, but I use them for snacks and fruit too. My son is currently loving the Toy Story themed ones of course! (**Check out below for a chance to win a FUNtainer straw bottle!)
One of my favourite items that I sent to preschool with my son or even for my husband’s work lunch is the Lunchbot. They are stainless steel with lids that my son can take off and put on himself. I have the divided ones so I can send crackers and cheese, fruit and muffins etc. and the food stays divided.
This past year I won some Mabel’s Labels for the kids and now that my son is off to school, I am really looking forward to plastering them on all of his stuff. Already I’ve been using them in his shoes and some school items. They wear well and wash well (through the dishwasher even – put them on your Thermos products!) and are quite frankly, adorable!
Yes, I have a vested interest in them since becoming their Community Engagement Manager a few months ago, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’ve already written in praise about Best Tools for Schools before. Instead of going out and buying everything on the school supply request list – chasing everything down and stressing about it (especially if the kids are along while shopping!) Best Tools for Schools takes the work out of supply shopping for us. Point, click and buy. The price point is spot on and my time is worth something. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they are awesome people who give back to the community and schools – $4 from each kit goes directly to the child’s school.
You can see if your school is on the list or contact them to find out how to help you get your school partnered with Best Tools for Schools.
