Where go?

The toddler was playing with a bouncy ball and having a blast.  She’d bounce it, it would hop around and she’d giggle.

Then it went under the couch.

In her typical dramatic toddler-ease she raised her arms and said ‘oh no! where go?’

Then ducked under the couch to see it. ‘Oh no! I get it’

But then she couldn’t reach. ‘Oh no!’

She came over to her brother ‘Oh no! Where go?!’ and showed him that she needed to duck under the couch to see the ball.

He knew what the problem was.

He marched over and ducked to see what she saw and reacher his little arm under and retrieved the ball for her.

‘Here you go!’ He said.

She paused.   And you could almost hear the wheels turning in her little mind.

She went over to the couch.  Ducked under and placed the ball.  Then promptly stood up and declard ‘Oh no! Where go?’ and ran to her brother.

He didn’t see her put it there.

Without question (or us interfering) he got the ball again for her.

‘Here you go.  I’ll always help’

In that moment, their bickering and arguing seemed non-existent.  That was love.
