We have been back to grandma’s house this week and the action has been packed. We are playing volleyball and badminton and roasting marshmallows and eating amazing food and going shopping and of course visiting with family. There is so much to do in the Windsor area we can’t ever cover it with each visit.
Today we went to a ball game in Detroit, something we’ve done for the past few years. The only difference was that we felt our daughter was at the right age to go this year. We take the tunnel bus from Windsor to Detroit so we are on a very specific schedule – leave Windsor around 11:30 and return after the game. Last year that would have been too long for her. But this year, she was excited.
Decked out in her brother’s hand-me-down Tiger’s t-shirt, the four of us (plus an Aunt) were ready to go. It was HOT but we had amazing seats and of course built more memories. Highlights included not only watching the game, but eating frozen lemonade (and my son’s favourite: popcorn), riding the bus and going on the Tiger themed carousel.
We left happy (the Tigers did win in the end) and my daughter left with a new hat.
Not a bad way to spend the day.
Very cool! I can’t wait to take my son to a Jays game! I think he’s ready now but I’ll have to budget it out first, haha.
If you go to Toronto, be sure to check out the Jr. Jays days (on Saturdays) – the activities are free, just outside of the stadium and it’s a blast!!
