Remember when I wrote this post about the fact that we haven’t left the kids overnight while we went away together, ever?
And that we had a wedding coming up that would mean we had to leave them? (by choice, but still, this date was chosen for us 😉
The wedding is tomorrow.
We are leaving them overnight.
This is huge for me as a parent.
Yes, they’ll be fine. (They are already asking when we will be leaving). They will have a great time. We will have a great time. This won’t be the last time we leave them and enjoy a nice evening (or two?) away.
But. This is the first time.
I haz feelings about this. I’ll share how wonderfully it went next week I’m sure 😉
We are getting away too…a little further than we have ever before – a continent away. My kids are older than yours, and I know they will be fine too, but it’s a HUGE step for us. BUT, it is soooo good for you as a couple to get away. (And good for the kids to manage without you) I wish we had done this sooner.
Have a fantastic time – whoop it up and remember what it was like pre-kids!

Aww. I hope your have a wonderful time at the wedding. It’s hard to leave your babies but I know that you have left them in loving and capable hands. They will miss you and you them but this little break away is good for everyone. They will be so excited to see you when you get back home (and you them no doubt 😉
