Valentine’s Day is meant to be a day of love, specifically between couples. Andy and I do try to demonstrate love each and every day with kindness and respect for one another but I don’t mind having an extra day to remind us just how lucky we are.
Plus now, we get to share Valentine’s Day with the kids, our other loves.
And there’s chocolate. Just sayin’.
Want to do something different for Valentine’s Day this year or around Valentine’s Day to show someone that you care? How about surprising them with a treat. The kids and I did this with friends last year (something we like to do once and a while is bake then drive around and drop them off to friends) and it was a lot of fun.
We made chocolate cupcakes, packaged them up in pretty pink bags and delivered them. This was part of our efforts for Kindness Week here in Ottawa. It’s simple, doesn’t cost much, and is a true expression of love.
Plus, again, chocolate.
I am just getting used to”Valentine’s day” being for everyone and not just couples. The first time my son received Valentine’s cards at daycare, I thought that you Canadians were crazy! Now I am warming up to the idea, especially if it includes chocolate muffins. 🙂
