The BOM Fast Five – Homemade Deodorant, Coding for Kids, Blissdom and more

This short week has been far too short. Don’t get me wrong, I am THRILLED that it’s finally Friday, but at the same time I could use about two more days to clear some to-do items off my list.

Never the less, I have a simple weekend planned and for that I am grateful.  We got our shelves from Ikea that are going to go up, mostly (I need doors still) and we’re hosting my parents for dinner which means I get to be creative in the kitchen – yay!

Meanwhile, here’s a BOM Fast Five list for you to check out! Enjoy!

1- Blissdom Canada tickets went on sale last weekend.  Did you get a ticket? I bought mine. They are accepting applications for speakers and community leaders too. Plus, stay tuned to their blog where I’ll be contributing a post about why I think it’s worth the investment to go to find your bliss!

2- I made my own deodorant this week using this recipe. I’m at about day 4 of use, and so far, so good! Will keep testing to see if it’s a keeper.  I currently smell like pie.

3- The Ottawa Baby Show is returning for their spring show! You can buy tickets online.  This is a really great event for expecting and new parents.  I’ll be there for a bit on the weekend!

4- Wired had an article about teaching our kids to code.  It’s pretty interesting (especially since I feel like I have so little aptitude for it, I definitely want my kids to learn!).  Check out Code For Kids workshops in your area to get them started.

5- I’m sending out another newsletter soon for the blog! I include some cool links you’ll love, posts you may have missed, and the next newsletter will have a chance to win some Seventh Generation samples.  Please Sign up if you haven’t already!
