When I buy garlic bread at the store, I think it’s because I forget how easy it is to make it myself. Using chunks of pressed garlic, melted butter and a baguette that’s ready to soak all of that up is not difficult. To make it even better, adding Ivanhoe aged cheddar gives it that sharper taste with a gooey bite that’s hard to resist.
The next time I go to buy garlic bread I will pause and plan to do this instead!
Gooey Garlic Bread
Ingredients:
1 Whole Wheat Baguette, halved (use all of it if you have more than 2 or 3 people eating it!)
1 clove of garlic
2 tbsp butter
1/3 cup grated Ivanhoe Aged Cheddar Cheese
Directions
Slice the baguette length wise.
In a small, microwavable bowl, press the clove of garlic, or finely chop it. Add the butter and melt.
Combine the melted butter and garlic. Using a brush, generously brush over the baguette. Be sure to add those pieces of garlic on top!
Top with grated cheese.
Bake at 375 for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the baguette is crisping.
Enjoy!
