Have you ever received life advice that has always stuck with you? What about mottos or sayings from people in your life (or in the world) that you really identify with?
I’m working on a new campaign with Manulife. This month, they’ve been encouraging people to give a shout out to others who have given them life advice worth sharing and living.
These pieces of advice may come at a time in our lives when we are having trouble making a decision, or when we just aren’t sure what we are doing. They may come when we least expect it.
I’ve had moments of realization, whether it was direct life advice or not, come to me when I’m happy and sad, when I’m needing a change and didn’t realize it (or knew it but wasn’t sure how to take the next step) or when I just needed to hear comforting words and advice.
I can’t point to direct statements that those around me have given me over the years. I know that I have a group of friends that I turn to constantly for parenting and business advice. I have family that I trust and lean on and of course my husband is one of my biggest sources of sound life advice each day.
My kids have given me life advice without even realizing it and I hope that I am imparting some back onto them as well.
In this video, I’m chatting about a few people I’ve gotten advice from, and what advice I want my kids to remember.
The Facebook post I mentioned in the video? You can find it here. Share what advice you’ve gotten that has played an important role in your life!
For more information about the campaign, check out the Manulife blog, and head over to Twitter to give some shout outs using the #LifeAdvice hashtag!
Disclosure: I am a social media ambassador for this campaign but all opinions are my own. It’s a fantastic, thoughtful campaign that I’m happy to be a part of. We’ve all received some great advice. I’ve enjoyed reflecting on that.
