Everyone house has one, don’t they? Or a few. I won’t admit which category I fall into, but let’s put it this way: This picture? It’s of my silverware drawer.
“That’s Weird, Becky”, you are saying to my screen, “you have a lot more than just silverware in that drawer!”
Yes, yes I do. This has somehow managed to become a pseudo junk drawer or a silverware drawer that moonlights as a junk drawer, if you will.
Let’s take stock of what’s hanging out with my spoons, shall we?
Well, yes, there are measuring spoons. That makes sense. And straws. Of course. Okay fine, the markers are handy when I’m writing notes on the family calendar or signing school documents. The bandaid could come in handy, it’s a kitchen afterall.
So, my daughter’s painted rock in the front? That probably doesn’t need to go there. And if I wasn’t so lazy, I would move my bracelet to my bedroom. Those sippy cup tops that are green? My kids haven’t used sippy cups in years. I have the bottoms but they have a sport top now. Those serve no purpose but have been dedicated a whole compartment to hang out in.
Hey! There’s my sticky notes way in the back, those are supposed to be at my filing cabinet/desk area.
I probably should clean up all those little pins that fell out of their container too. Why did I have the sewing pins down here in the first place?
Anyway, there’s no way I’m the only one with a drawer like this. Fess up. What’s in your junk drawer?
