You may have read that Parks Canada is offering free park passes in 2017 to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. To get your own park pass, you just have to order one online or pick one up at your local participating location (the full list is here). There may be a delay in how long it takes to arrive if you order online(ours came after a couple months of waiting) but it will be worth the wait!
Why should you order your free Parks Canada park pass? It’s the perfect way to explore some of Canada’s National Parks (which usually have an entrance fee) or other historic sites.
We are excited that national parks, like Greenwich National Park in PEI and Point Pelee National Park in Windsor are included. While we usually have a park pass in PEI courtesy of our cottage owners, we love visiting the Point Pelee Park when we go to Windsor. The beach there is so nice!
Not only are parks included, but you can visit marinas and other historic sites like Forts (Fort George in Niagara and Fort Malden in Amherstburg are wonderful!)
When you are planning your family travels this year, check to see which locations your park pass will get you into while you are travelling and add a little more Canadiana to your list of places to see and things to do.
Visit the Parks Canada website for more details.
