This is a sponsored post in partnership with FreeYumm. But I have to tell you up front – half way through my photo shooting for this, I snacked on some of the cookies and bars. And fell in love! They are SO TASTY. So as I write about the benefits of allergen free snacks, which is very important, also know that these are just simply yummy! Yes, the kids loved them, but I did too! Adding them to our pantry for my own grab and go needs.
It’s no secret that packing school lunches is not my favourite activity. And to be perfectly honest, it shouldn’t be so annoying- this process really doesn’t take me long for both kids. However, it’s still one of those parenting jobs that I take on myself (I haven’t passed the responsibility along to the kids) and yet, my mindset is always that it’s a chore.
It’s gotten a bit easier over the years as the kids have opened up their eating habits and finally started accepting lunch options like sandwiches and leftovers. Imagine that! Snacks in the school lunch may vary, but there are certain elements that remain in each daily lunch bag; there needs to be fruit and veggies, and allergen-free snack options. I now send packaged snacks with the kids, but am always looking for options with more natural (and fewer) ingredients than some of the overly sweet treats I put in the cupboard.
A crucial factor when chosing school snacks is finding tasty snacks that are also allergen-free. We are fortunate to have companies like FreeYumm providing yummy, ready-to-go snacks as a school safe option.
I love that FreeYumm is more than just peanut free. There are 9 allergens they are free from including dairy, egg, sesame, soy, gluten, and tree nuts.
However, no matter how much I want to send safe snacks to school, if they don’t taste great, my kids won’t eat them; they are picky when it comes to snacks. This is why we were so pleasantly surprised that FreeYumm bars and cookies were so delicious. They gobbled them up and asked for more! (I simply told them to look in their lunch tomorrow!) I also really like the natural and wholesome ingredients used like maple syrup, pumpkin seeds and dried blueberries. Many of their ingredient lists read like an at-home recipe that I could make (but certainly don’t have the time for!)
Also, I like to encourage parents to think outside of the classroom when it comes to allergen-free, wholesome snacks for on the go. Whether it’s when we travel, in the car when I’m between meetings, or to a playgroup at a local Museum, FreeYumm bars and cookies are a really great choice. I love that I’ve seen FreeYumm at a few different grocery stores already which makes shopping for these snacks even easier. Not finding them where you live? You can order FreeYumm at a variety of online stores!
I love being able to have ready made snacks (without the guilt) to grab and go, not only for the kids but for myself!
FreeYumm is available at participating grocers and online. It’s the perfect way to send a delicious snack to school that is allergen-free, filled with quality ingredients, and loaded with taste.

My daughter is allergic to peanuts and eggs. I was terrified of her peanut allergy but it’s actually eggs that is turning out to be the most difficult to manage. I love that Free Yumm offers options free of the top allergens, not just nuts.
These look great! And, indeed, yummy enough to eat whether allergies are a factor or not! Thanks for sharing!
Chat with other parents ahead of time to learn about any food allergies their children have. Don’t feel that asking is invasive. Parents will probably appreciate your concern.
