Read about this special outdoor show!
We can’t let go of the summer just yet! And why should we? September boasts some of the best weather we will see all year, and the activities in the City continue to go on.
There are many family events to participate in this Fall, but one that I want to share with you is really going to be a special, unique opportunity for your family.
Swan River is a performance that is not set on a stage, but instead, uses the natural environment of the waters at Petrie Island to tell their story.
What it’s about:
Piece together clues and help brother and sister duo Pen and Cob unravel the mystery of Swan River! Stepping into the world of the play, audiences will journey through the landscape experiencing theatre, music, visual imagery, and interactive installations. A story about identity, adaptability, and family, Swan River celebrates the extraordinary power that we all have to love one another unconditionally.
Skeleton Key Theatre produces original Canadian work that creates immersive theatrical experiences for its audience, encouraging critical thought, empathy, compassion, an appreciation of multiple arts disciplines, and fosters a connection to the environment.
Don’t miss this unique show that is sure to spark the imagination!
There are several performances happening between September 14 and 16th, including morning, afternoon and evening shows.
Swan River is a family-friendly performance and is recommended for children over the age of 5.
How can you get tickets:
Tickets are available now, but remember, you won’t be going to Shenkman to watch it, but instead, head down to Petrie.
For a better understand of what to expect, check out this video that explains more about the interactive show (it launched originally in May!)
As you know, we’ve taken the kids to many live performances before, and these types of interactive, interesting stories are always a joy.
You can get your tickets for one of the upcoming Swan River performances on the Shenkman Arts Centre website or by calling their box office.
