Happy New Year’s Eve!
We are still in full holiday mode – visiting with family and enjoying the 18th turkey derived lunch/dinner with no complaints. It’s been a really fantastic time for us, mostly because when the four of us are together we all seem to feel complete.
But now, the new year is upon us and I am in that very fun ‘DO ALL THE THINGS IN THE NEW YEAR’ mode. My mind won’t stop with the ideas and plans and dreams – both personally and professionally – for 2014.
You’ll likely be reading posts about people’s 3 words to help guide their year over the next few weeks. I may do my own. I like these kinds of posts and words that make us attempt to be more accountable – and by putting these things on our blogs or Facebook walls or sharing them with others we feel that our team of supporters that surround us (in whatever form they may take) can help us get back on track when we seem to be heading in the off direction.
Action is more important than anything I can write in this space or share with friends though, and I recognize that. Looking back on 2013, there were ideas and opportunities that came up that I followed through on (my 2013 word for the year was ‘DO’ and I certainly did a lot I think!). And I am someone who has learned from experience that even if I have plans for the year, by April, June or even September, often these plans have evolved or changed. Interests and passions aren’t set in stone and the fluid nature of them is what is rather appealing.
There will be more written once I get some of these ideas formed more clearly and if you aren’t sure what your goals/words/resolutions look like for the upcoming year, I do encourage you to read what others are feeling and saying – not that you can copy what their drives are, but you may find inspiration in unsuspecting places.
Finally, a quick bloggy note – I want to extend a huge thank you to you, my readers, who come to this space – no matter the reason (recipes, craft ideas, Ottawa activities, random thoughts) – and chatting with me via the comments, Facebook or Twitter. You enrich my online experience and 2013 has left me feeling renewed and excited about my blog. So THANK YOU!
Happy New Year – Let 2014 be the year of Passion (in whatever context you would like to take that! 😉
Thank you for all the great work you do and for the inspiring sense of community you create! Go Rebecca!
Happy to hear that you enjoyed and are still enjoying the holidays. All the best to you and your family in 2014 and much continued success to you personally and professionally in the coming months.
