I won’t lie, the PD Day in our school board comes at the perfect time tomorrow. I am ready for a day of not going anywhere, staying in pjs and just being at home with the kids.
However, I may change my mind if the weather cooperates and we decide to head outside, or if I get the itch to go do something instead of just hanging around.
If you think you may be looking for something to keep the kids busy tomorrow, here are a few ideas!
1- Tag Along Toy Craft Time
On many PD Days, on March Break and during the summer blog advertiser and local toy store extraordinaire Tag Along Toys hosts a craft activity in store. On January 22, stop by the Kanata location between 10 am and 12 pm and your kids can make a craft to take home. I’ve done this before with the kids and always love it!
More details are on their Facebook page.
2- Library activities
I have a whole post about the library coming up soon, but the Ottawa Public Library is hosting various activities at many of their locations for the PD Day. Stories, games, crafts – there is a lot to choose from!
3- Jump the sillies out at Sky Zone
How have I not been here yet? ! I want to go! This is one way to get the kids moving and every tired so that you can enjoy a quiet Friday evening. That’s how it works, right?
I took the kids on a PD Day before and it was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast, I was the coolest mom ever, and everyone was happy.
Tip: They have an early bird deal if you go before 10:30 am!
5- Visit the Farm
I can’t even tell you how many times I took the kids to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum when they were little and not in school full time. And yes, we often went in the winter. I bundled them up in their snowsuits and we loved visiting the grounds. The Farm has activities during the day – demos like calf grooming and rabbit care. I would say find a place for hot chocolate after this. It will be deserved!
6- Go see Star Wars. Again.
Have you seen it yet? I want to go again! I just added it to the list because I’m obsessed.
Happy PD Day!
