A Child’s View

Recently, my son said to me while we were driving somewhere, alone:

‘Mom, when I get bigger, I’m going to lose all my hair’

I hesitated.  I thought we were about to have yet another discussion about his dad’s hair loss caused by the chemotherapy, and how daddy may be sick but it doesn’t mean he will be sick.  The hair loss from his treatment was one of the only visible signs of his cancer (other than after his immobility after surgery) so it’s something I always worry about with the kids and how they are feeling about the changes.

I paused, then asked ‘why are you going to lose your hair kiddo?’

And without hesitation he replied:

‘Because I’m going to get married.  And when you’re married you lose your hair’.

Um.  Who’s been telling you what pal?!! 😉
