We are all about LEGO in this house lately which is awesome. I love LEGO. I would love to read a business case study about the company and the way that they’ve remained so relevant in pop culture (um, LEGO mini-movies are amazing) and in the toy world. There are few toys that age with the kids the way that LEGO does.
This means that we have LEGO Wii Games, and 3DS games and of course, iPad games. But, in true LEGO style, they are pretty cool. So here are 4 of my kids favourite (and FREE!) LEGO games that we have on the iPad that get played with very often. Enjoy!
1- LEGO Duplo Jams
Various locations (the water, space, the farm) provide the back drop to fun little songs that are actually quite catchy while the kids learn numbers and ABCs!
2-LEGO 4+
This simple introductory game has your child build small vehicles (they choose the wheels! the body!) and drive them around (basic left to right motions) to get to the end of the ‘level’.
3-LEGO City – Spotlight Robbery
It should be noted there are a few cool LEGO City ones including a Firehouse frenzy, but this robbery one is pretty fun. Burglars are trying to break into the LEGO City Museum and through various levels you have to try and stop them!
4-LEGO Movie
The ability to screen shot your LEGO guys into their own movie is pretty appealing. Add together the fact that this app has music options and sound/screen effects ‘BAM!’ and you get a pretty cool functioning movie maker. The kids can title it and make themselves the directors!

Thanks so much for these suggestions! I have three LEGO-mad boys and we feel the same about LEGO as a well-built, creative product. I can’t wait to look at these apps.
