Around Ottawa: Easter at City of Ottawa Museums

Not sure what to do with the kids this long weekend? The City of Ottawa Museums have you covered.  Don’t let the lack of green grass scare you away from getting out and enjoying some family friendly Easter activities all taking place on Saturday, April 4.

Before the Easter Bunny comes, take the kids to one of these events. Hop to it!

Events: 

Easter at the EstateBillings Estate National Historic Site

When: Saturday, April 4 from 10 am to 4 pm

What’s Happening: Take part in traditional Easter activities like an egg hunt, egg-rolling races, egg dyeing and more! Plus, meet the Easter Bunny! We love the grounds at Billings Estate, and the kids loves to explore inside the house.

Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family

Curious Cottontail’s Easter Egg HuntCumberland Heritage Village Museum

When: Saturday, April 4 from 10 am to 4 pm

What’s Happening: The Cumberland Heritage Village Museum (we have a family membership!) has their own Easter Bunny! Curious Cottontail will be around this weekend to help kids find their Easter Eggs during an egg hunt! Plus, there’s the Museum’s petting zoo and activities for the whole family.

Cost: $7/person, $5/students and seniors, $18/family (plan to go more than once a year like us? Look into the family membership!

Bell’s Bunny HopFairfields Heritage House

When: Saturday, April 4 from 10 am to 2 pm

What’s Happening: Yes, Fairfields is getting in on the fun and is hosting their own Easter hunt plus there’s another chance to meet the Easter Bunny! (The Easter Bunny has a very busy weekend schedule!) The activities will focus on Victorian family Easter traditions!

Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family

Easter at Nepean MuseumNepean Museum

When: Saturday, April 4 from 1 pm to 4 pm

What’s Happening: Everyone loves a great scavenger hunt. The Nepean Museum has set up a family friendly Easter scavenger hunt that will see visitors explore the museum and solve clues about Easter traditions in Nepean. There’s a craft time as well (plus, this museum is REALLY neat to check out!)

Horaceville HopPinhey’s Point Historic Site

When: Saturday, April 4 from 10 am to 4 pm

What’s Happening: The petting zoo is sure to be a hit with the little ones at Pinhey’s Point Historic Site and there’s an annual egg hunt there as well! Do you think the Easter Bunny will make an appearance? It sounds like it! The Easter festivities will also celebrate spring. Families can decorate a flower pot and plant seeds too!

Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family
