Coming this summer: Mosaicanada 150, a FREE family event in the Ottawa area
I was so thrilled to be invited behind the scenes look at an upcoming event taking place in Jacques-Cartier Park this summer until October. Mosaicanada 150 is going to excite everyone in the family! The flower and plant topiaries that will be on display are truly works of arts. These sculptures will be filled with millions of plants that will be watered and maintained all summer long. The art work will be on display for families and Ottawa area residents to browse and examine. I love when we get to enjoy these kind of activities outside.
The free event is part of Canada’s 150th celebrations. The collaboration includes First Nations legends in the artwork to further highlight Canada’s identity. Visit the website for more information.
What I saw on the factory and green house tour is only a portion of what’s to come. I showed my kids the pictures I took and we are all excited to visit it ourselves when it’s set up and complete. It will be set up outdoors at Jacques-Cartier Park
Here are a few pictures from my day. Keep in mind that many of these are only pieces of what the final installation will look like.
I can’t wait to see the final results! Want to get a better idea for what the event is about? The Gatineau website has more details. The event begins June 30 and runs until October 15, so you’ll have lots of time to go again and again!
Disclosure: Tourisme Outaouais invited me on the press trip. Opinions are my own.
