The King and I is coming to the National Arts Centre, and you can win four tickets to the opening night show!
As you know, we love seeing stage shows. Last year when Andy and I went to see The Phantom of the Opera, I thought I was going to shake with excitement (although, I did cry, no surprise).
And when we took the kids and my parents to see School of Rock, their first broadway production, they were instant fans.
Now, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I is coming to the National Arts Centre from March 12-17th.
The show was first created in 1951 (the Academy Award nominated movie was based on it) so that speaks to the staying power it has had with audiences for so many years.
There are evening and matinee performances available at the NAC while it’s in town, and it’s recommended for children 8 and older, so your preteens and teens can head out with you for this one!
Set in 1860’s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.-Broadway Across Canada Website
