Do you have Mother’s Day plans yet? Mine are fairly simple but I’ll be doing what I love surrounded by those I love. Sure, our morning has a few of the kids’ regularly scheduled activities, but I will get to sleep in, be spoiled with their attention and enjoy the sunshine. Plus, Mother’s Day always ends with Game of Thrones.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for something to do, I’ve scoped out three new ideas that you may not have thought of beyond the usual brunch plans that you may already have.
No matter how you spend the day, take time for yourself and Happy Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day ideas in Ottawa
1- Moms get FREE admission to Upper Canada Village on Mother’s Day. With the weather reports suggesting a beautiful day on Sunday, Upper Canada Village might be the place to visit as a family. Explore history with mom, stop by the restaurant for Mother’s Day brunch and more! You can read about our previous visits here.
2- Take mom out for some ice cream! Local, homemade ice cream that is. Visit La Cigale Ice Cream shop in Old Chelsea, Quebec for a treat and take a walk in Gatineau Park.
3- Walk through the Tulips at the Tulip Festival! Not only will mom love to spend time outside and surrounded by gorgeous flowers, but think of the pictures you could get a family at the Tulip Festival, it’s been a place we’ve enjoyed in the past!
Enjoy!
