Ottawa in June is the place to be! Here are a few family friendly activities you may want to check out!
The nice weather is here to stay in Ottawa (mostly, if we ignore the rain and the fact that some days are still only 14 degrees) but I’m choosing to be optimistic!
I find the month of June one of the busiest months of the year.
On June 3 and 4, there is SO MUCH to do, for free, across Ottawa this weekend thanks to Doors Open Ottawa. On Saturday and Sunday, there are various events happening across the City, and many places are offering free admission. Browse the website for something near you, or plan to visit a place that you haven’t been to before somewhere in Ottawa!
The Cumberland Heritage Village Museum is hosting Firefighter Day on Saturday, June 3. We’ve been before and it’s a lot of fun. There are demonstrations and activities for kids!
You’re welcome parents. This one can be for date night, but, I’ve included it in my family friendly round up because the Sunday is a family friendly event! It’s the only day kids are allowed to join the fun (there will be a bouncy castle by the sounds of it!) so it’s a neat way to support the event as a family while checking out local beer and food.
I know how well loved this event is! The Mothercraft Touch a Truck event is taking place on June 11 at Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre. Kids will love the big trucks and equipment being showcased!
It takes place at Rideau Hall on June 24 and your kids can bring their favourite stuffy friend with them of course! There will be plenty of family friendly activities.
On June 30, Mosaicanada will be opening. It’s a free outdoor event featuring sculptures adorned with flowers and plants. You can read about the event from my sneak peek here.
Finally, Father’s Day is June 18th. Don’t forget to treat dad to some fun! I’ll make a separate list to help you with some ideas!
Happy June!
