I am pleased to welcome the Mr. Pototo Head Exhibit as an advertiser to A Little Bit of Momsense.
The exhibit is placed inside the Children’s Museum of the Museum of Civilization. The Museum has long been an advertiseron this blog, and I can see already that the buzz for the Mr. Potato Head Exhibit is pretty huge.
The Children’s Museum is already a favourite spot for my kiddos. It’s impossible not to be excited by it as a kid. There is so much to see, do and especially touch. The Museum caters to all ages – I saw many pre-teens having a lot of fun!
The Mr. Potato Head Exhibit
Mr. Potato Head is a classic toy, is it not? We all had them and many of our kids have them. I suspect the Toy Story movies brought Mr. Potato Head (and Mrs. Potato Head) back onto the toy scene in recent years.
The Exhibit itself is pretty amazing. There are many different Mr. Potato Head scenes where the spud is geared up for it. The kids weaved in and out of the stations building potato heads, going through tunnels, touching levers and handles and much more.
The craft area was packed but so worth going to. Each kid gets to decorate their own mini burlap bag into a Potato Head character. There were googly eyes, feathers, stickers and more to glue on the bag and get creative!
The Summary
My kids loved it. Simple as that. And both Andy and I agreed that there was so much to do and it was easy to spend a long time in just the Mr. Potato Head Exhibit itself.
We also felt really nostalgic. Remembering when we had the toy and checking out cool things like Darth Tater!
Notes and Tips:
The Exhibit is free for members, otherwise it’s included with your museum passes. But skip the long lines! Buy them online in advance.
If you can skip the stroller, I would recommend you do, there were plenty around but space is tight so you’ll find it easier to ditch it. If you need to bring it though, consider parking it at the Children’s Museum stroller parking area!
Someone asked me on Twitter about younger children attending. They definitely can go to the Children’s Museum! There are so many things for even little ones to touch and do, plus the Mr. Potato Head Exhibit was accessible for all ages.
Pack a snack! There are small tables for snacks in the hallway near the Children’s Museum. After we visited the Museum we snacked (and grabbed a coffee at the Second Cup) then went back in to check out the Mr. Potato Head Exhibit specifically.
The exhibit is around until the New Year so you can visit more than once!
Have you been to the Exhibit yet? Are you thinking about going?
