Remember the demon unicorn that almost happened with I took the kids to the Mud Oven over the summer?
Here’s your scary refresher.
The good news is, we had fixed it up and here are the finished products that the kids created. They love them. And it was a perfect activity.
The Mud Oven is located on Bank Street in Ottawa. There is usually parking on the side streets if you can’t get there right on Bank.
We made an appointment to go in to make sure we would have space. They do take walk ins, but you run into the potential that the tables will be full.
Now that the gift giving season is upon us, The Mud Oven would be a great hands-on activity for you and the kids (maybe a 25 Days of Christmas Advent Activity?) and you get the bonus of creating something for grandma, or dad or auntie.
We were there for about an hour. The kids paint about three coats on their selected item and then it’s left to dry and go in the kiln. About a week later they are ready for pick up!
You buy the item to paint itself, and that’s an all inclusive price. So if the unicorn was $16, then the cost for our activity all together was $16 plus tax.
Now’s the time to make your appointments. It was a lot of fun and I’m glad my friend recommended that we take the kids. I’ll be doing it again, as I’m sure they’ll be asking to.
Check out their website for details about their hours, process, pricing and ideas for items you can decorate.
Hand made gifts that are filled with love are always appreciated I think!
Have fun!
