Is LEGO huge in your house? I remember when I was a kid having the giant box of LEGO to build with. It wasn’t a kit, but came with all the pieces to build houses (doors and windows!) and gardens and more. Those blocks lasted us many years.
My husband was the same and in fact still had many of his LEGOs stored away. We pulled them out as our kids got older. The pieces were a bit heavier, a bit more brittle, but still classic LEGO.
This is what the heads used to look like!
Now, LEGO is back in our house thanks to our kids. It’s hard not to fall in love with LEGO right now, the tie-ins to some of our favourite movies are amazing (LEGO Star Wars everything!). There are LEGO books, video games, and of course building sets. The Christmas Advent calendar that we got wasn’t inexpensive but I loved it so much I can’t imagine not getting one next year.
Netflix has a sweet selection of LEGO shows and movies happening right now. My daughter enjoys LEGO friends and Elves, and we all can’t get enough of the super heroes. (Watch LEGO Batman the Movie. Trust me).
Between getting creative and building their own sets, and playing with the LEGO games or watching the shows, it’s pretty fun to see a toy that was so cherished when we were younger being loved this much by our own kids.
I do have one wish for Netflix though: Please get the entire LEGO Star Wars cartoon series. Those were SO FUNNY!
Do you love LEGO?
